Hey, welcome to today's episode. My name is Brandy Shaver, and I am so excited to be sharing with you this topic, because a lot of network marketers are missing this

And if you're missing this, you're totally missing out on new recruits and new customers because you're missing the whole entire point of building online!!

1. Target Market and Avatar's

So the thing I'm talking about is your target market

There's a target market and then there's an avatar and these are two different things.

Just to explain it really quick. An avatar is one person. So an avatar is, like if I'm your avatar, I'm 44, I have six kids, I live in Utah, I run my own business, I'm an entrepreneur. That's your avatar. 

A target market is a whole big group of that avatar because here's the thing. 

Here's what I've noticed is that a lot of people are getting on their pedestal on social media and blasting out to everyone about their products and opportunity.

However, when you're blasting to everyone, nobody listens. Right?

So if you think about, for instance, like a radio station, they have a certain type of person that follows that radio station. So if you're hard rock, you have a radio station. If you're country, you have a radio station. If you're contemporary, you have a radio station. If you're classical music, you have a radio station.

That's what an avatar is. So if you have an avatar, that's either a red or a blue bucket, your avatar maybe is a blue bucket, when you go to Home Depot, there's millions and millions of blue buckets on the shelf.

2. Your Perfect Avatar

So you're never going to run out of people, but you've got to start speaking to your specific person and the best way I know how to share this with you, so that you know how to do it, is have you ever read a post that you were like, Oh my gosh, she is speaking directly to me. 

Like, she totally gets me. Right? I've done this. You've maybe watched a video before, or even read a post where someone has laid it out. In fact, I just did a test last week.

I did a test where I posted something a little bit controversial on my profile. And it was about some of the political things going on.

Now I'm not political, but I vote and I think there's a right and a wrong, and you know, I vote for what I think is right and wrong. But because there's people on my profile, on my social media profiles that saw the posts that maybe don't agree with me, they got irritated.

And so everybody started to comment on this post and people that are my perfect avatar or that think like me, that I want in my team or that I want as customers, they also commented.

So it was a great way for me to filter people out. It was a great way because a lot of people just unfriended me because of the post. 

3. What's In It For Them

But the whole point is that your posts and your lives and all those things, they are about what's in it for them. Okay. Not what's in it for you. It's about what's in it for them. 

And when you can start to switch that around and help serve your perfect prospect. So let's say your perfect prospect is a mom. Maybe she's got a little bit of baby weight going on still. And it's been five years since she had her youngest baby.

Maybe she tries to stay active, but maybe just doesn't have the time and needs some of your products to help her drop that extra 10 pounds. That could be somebody's avatar. Okay.

And when you speak to that avatar, that person is going to raise their hand. They're going to say, Oh my gosh, you spoke directly to me in that post. And I have to have what you're talking about. 

And that's when you move the conversation to messenger where you can get the order, get her to order whatever it is that's going to help her solve her problems.

4. Give Love To Get Love

So if you've done this right, you will have people jumping on to your post, raising their hands. They'll be messaging you. And of course, one of the key caveats to this is on social media you have to GIVE LOVE TO GET LOVE.

So if you're not out, in social media, commenting, starting conversations, really being an authentic human on other people's profiles that you want to work with, or maybe have as customers, they're not even seeing your stuff.

So you have got to give more love than you are taking. So go in, comment on people's stuff and then go post yours and test and tweak until you get it figured out.

But if you always go and post based on your avatar, like she's 44, she has six kids. She works from home and she's entrepreneur, what are her pains and problems. Solve them for her in the posts, inspire her based on her pains and problems.

You know, give her a little bit of an inside peek of what your life looks like. Maybe your struggles, that's a great way to connect with your perfect people is to share some of your struggles.
