Social Media seems to be all the rage to build your business these days...and is an incredible tool that we can all use to grow our teams and get great customers.
In Fact, using Attraction Marketing on social media brings me between 200 to 500 leads a day and averages about 10 new team members and customers a month...
BUT there are some rules to follow that make it a lot easier to be successful and also minimize risk to you.
There is always going to be pros and cons to whatever social media platform you are choose to build your business on, plus its never without any risk...
Not long ago...
I opened up my Facebook Ads Manager to check on my metrics.
I was getting $3 leads and getting one sale every 9 leads.
WHICH is REALLY GOOD, if you may be new to the world of ads.
and this is what was there...

My heart dropped...
"Your business account is prohibited from advertising. You cant use Brandy Sher Shaver or it's associated ad accounts to advertise. This is because your business account was disabled for violating our Advertising Policies or other standards."
SAY WHAT?
I had spent 3 years building this account
This had to be a mistake.
I had spent over 200K dollars building this ad account, this brand, this page, MY PIXEL, my business...
and it was all gone.
This means that I could no longer run paid advertising and it was a big blow. 🙁
You see this was the primary way I was building my business, generating between 200 to 500 leads a day and averaging about 10 team members and customers a month for my network marketing business and it was all gone...
Now getting shut down happens to alot of people for various reasons.
So don't let this be an excuse not to run paid ads.
They are super effective and a lot more targeted and profitable than relying on just organic reach.
Just Remember, that it is their platform their rules...
and sometimes it is not always clear the reason why people get shut down...
BUT, In one day I went from making a pretty good chunk of change (a mid 5 figure income a month) and bringing in new people to... none... notta, zilch.
Things happen...
Things that you can't always control.
That's part of being an entrepreneur.
So here's the cold hard truth about using social media to build your business...
You have no control over social media and it is constantly going to morph and change.
There's ALWAYS going to be changes in policies.
There's ALWAYS going to be things that change in your course of you building your business online or even offline.
So the point is... things are going to change and as an entrepreneur you have to be prepared
The only thing you can count on is that things will change.
But it got me thinking and here are some things that I've learned from this experience...
About myself...
About being an entrepreneur...
About using the tools that we use to build our businesses...
Hopefully these can help you too.
1) Treat People With Kindness
It doesn't help to swear or get ticked off at anyone
There are people on the other side of the phone or screen or chat.
Treat them as such.
I could have been a royal beast and screamed and cried and threw fits but would that help?
They are people and they were very supportive and super nice!
They walked me through everything that they could walk me through and it was all very cordial.
They sent me the information and they let me know that they didn't have the support to help me...
I chatted with a few of the amazing people over at Facebook support
I told them that I totally understood that it wasn't personal, it wasn't their fault personally... they are employees of Facebook and have to follow the policies...
I also said that I was just trying to figure out how I could get back into my account and get it all fixed...
As it stood I was still in appeals but what I did realize is that...

2) Nothing is permanent!
There are always going to be challenges as entrepreneurs...
There is always a solution..
it may not be what you thought it was going to be, but there is always away around it.
Get resourceful!
Go under over or through it to get what you want.
and that is exactly what I did... I was back up and running ads within 48 hours of my other account being taken away.
Was it ideal NO!
But I figured it out.
3) You're going to have to learn how to pivot more than once... and probably many more times than you ever imagined in your career.
If you want to make it being an entrepreneur...
By building your business online or any other business.
You have to handle emotional situations with logic.
And understand that you will get through it!
Sometimes more than once a day...
It's constantly changing...
You need to be prepared and not let emotions get out of control...
Maybe you've experienced a pivot in what you're doing...
Maybe you've experienced lots of pivots...
Or maybe your pivot is going from your regular job to building your business online...
These pivots are always going to happen when you are a business owner
And we have to learn how to handle it professionally.

4) You have got to have grit to make anything successful.
GRIT!
What is grit? Grit is not quitting when you want to give up.
Continuing down the path to point B even when you don't feel like it anymore.
There are a lot of people out there that think that let's try this entrepreneur thing for 30 days and if I'm not making serious cash at that point...
Then I'm going to jump to the next thing...
What I see happens, is people jump to the next thing...
and then they keep on jumping...
Maybe they make a quick buck jumping here, there and everywhere...
But they are not building anything long term... and they are never going to get out of the cycle of being in continual start up status.
No stability in that, is there?
You are going to have to have grit to make anything happen!
Inside of your life...
inside of your business...
inside of a job...
It's not going to happen instantaneously!
You have to do it for a while!
Consistency is key... yep! I know its not sexy, but it's what makes millionaires.
You're not going to snap your fingers and make millions of dollars a year.
That is unreasonable for most people.
That's not how it works.... If it were, then everybody would be doing it!
5) The only thing that matters in business is your list.
If you remember nothing from this blog post but this, you will be successful.
Always remember that you do not own any social media platform therefore, if it were to be taken away for some reason you do not control it and if you only have your prospects, team and customers on that platform they are gone in one swoop.
The most important part in business is the list.
What's your list? It's your database or your network...
The people that have given you their email or contact info so that they can get more from you.
Remember this...Your network is your net worth.Brandy Shaver
It's important to focus on your list because there are ways you can use the list to get around those pivots that happen in your business...
Even a social media shutdown.
You've got to be in a place where you can take that next pivot that comes at you.
and when you are in the middle of that pivot you will need to figure out a way that you can get back up and running as soon as possible!
and if you have the list you can offer whatever is of value to them to continue to create an income for yourself.
Now, even though things get out of whack...the best part of marketing is being a business owner and figuring it out as you go!
It can be a lot of fun!
If you stay out of the emotions that can go with it...
Because business sometimes is up and sometimes business is down!
I am sure you have felt that already building your own business.
One day somebody is enrolling, the next day somebody quitting...
One day you're doing great in volume and sales
And the next day nobody's buying and nobody's talking to you...
What I've learned through this is that:
Your list is the most important piece,
It's all about relationships!
The relationships that you build are the most important part because...
If the relationships you build on one social media platform are real...
Those people are going to stay in touch with you, they are going to want to hear from you and...
They're going to continue to want to do business with you.
These relationships are the basis of what we do inside of building our businesses online and the basis of network marketing or any business, really.
Now If you want a way or need a way to start building a list and learn how to have people coming to you wanting to enroll and buy products from you, without chasing your friends and family or sending copy and paste messages to strangers.
