Three Things You Need To Take Your Network Marketing Business Online

Hey, welcome to today's episode. Today, we are talking about the three things you need to take your network marketing business online in a professional way.

My name is Brandy Shaver. If you are joining me for the first time, welcome, welcome. I'm excited that you are here excited I am able to share a little bit of value hopefully to help you move forward in your business.

So if you are tired of prospecting, your friends and family and tired of doing maybe home meetings, if you're still doing those or sending spammy messages to strangers and being accused of doing some pyramid thing, you're probably ready to take your business online.

And if you're online and you're getting a bunch of like stop spamming my newsfeed or unfollows, it might be time to up your game.


My life before I took my Network Marketing Business Online

So let me just give you a little bit of backstory about where I come from.

So I started doing network marketing a few years ago and I bugged everybody, my friends and family, my tiny little town of 5,000 people and then I decided to go into the cold market prospecting because I didn't have any other choice.

My up line kept saying, "just go enroll five more people".

Well, I wasn't sure where to find those people and one of the things that is left out of this industry is that people are only going to do business with you that "know like, and trust" you or that you have influence over.

And so I will never forget one day I was in the mall up in Orem, Utah, prospecting, hunting people in malls and stalking waitresses and I was standing in the foyer where all the husbands sit waiting for the wives or, you know, waiting for whomever that might be shopping.

And lo and behold, I had this huge light bulb moment.

Everyone in that foyer was staring at a cell phone. Okay.

And so instantly my mind went, you know what, here I am trying to get all of these people to give me their names and their numbers so that I can meet up with them and, you know, do coffee and show them my great business opportunity and all I need to do is figure out how to get into that phone.

This was after many trips, two and a half hours, one way you know, thousands and thousands and thousands of miles on my car and nanny paid all of the time and effort wasted trying to build my business and by the grace of God, I found a website where someone had built their entire network marketing empire almost completely online.

And so that is where my network marketing journey started.

I started stalking this gal that was building her business online, and I learned how to build a following, learned how to build influence.

So I'm going to share with you how you can generate fresh quality leads from wherever and whenever you please all by taking your network marketing business online.


End Rejection, End Frustration. Sound good?

You can end rejection forever and only talk to the most highly qualified people that are interested in your offer, and you don't need to drive long hours and your startup costs are low and your business works for you 24 seven.

And I know that that sounds too good to be true because I felt the same way when I started to go down this road of how to build my network marketing business online professionally.

Because I wasn't interested in doing the you know, spamming messages where you're sending them out and asking someone to take a look at your ground floor opportunity, which I have done by the way, I was not interested in posting my before and after photos.

I was not interested in the, "Hey, can you post this for me?" and I was not interested in the product posts or join my team at the end of the month because I need to hit my goals.

So those things to me didn't feel right, and they weren't very professional. So there are three steps required to take your business online and the first one is mindset.

Now I know different people have different attitudes as far as personal development and mindset goes, but my advice is pretty practical.


Get Comfortable with the Uncomfortable

First, you must get uncomfortable with the unknown and basically you need to be present and respect the journey.

Hey, know that you're not going to learn everything you need to know all at once in one fell swoop, even though we want to, we're going to have to suck before we're good. Okay.

That's just how this works.

When you go online, you're going to be learning a whole new skillset.

Also it's basically a whole new profession. Okay.

So when you learn a new profession, what do you usually do?

You go to school for years and years and years and years, and you're not going to have to do that to figure this out, but it probably shouldn't take four years.

Anyway, it did take me a year to figure this out where I was, you know, proficient or professional at doing it, but basically you're going to have to master the unknown and that's okay.

But don't try to learn everything at once.

Just focus on what's in front of you because you, again, you can't eat an elephant all in one bite, and I'm sure you've heard that before, but you're going to focus on what's in front of you master that, implement that, and then move on and you have to get uncomfortable with being, I guess, comfortable with being uncomfortable is what I'm trying to say.

Okay. So keep in mind and expect the unknown.

But the other issue is a biggie and comes up often is ability to overcome adversity and not give up because there are some things that you might have to learn. Like I did.

I didn't even know how to copy and paste.

And so I have a huge learning curve. And if I would have just thrown my hands in the air and given up, I wouldn't definitely wouldn't be where I am. Okay.

So certain parts of your business is going to become easier, just like doing you know, live videos or podcasts or you know, writing an email or speaking to a prospect now is no big deal for me.

But at first it was really, really, really hard. Okay.

So, but you're not going to have to do the things you don't love doing, which is no more driving around town, no more sending spam the messages, no more prospecting people in elevators, no more stalking the waitresses, which my kids hated by the way.

And no more following up or after you've shown somebody the plan, but you're still gonna have things that definitely you know, come up with roadblocks. Okay.


There Are Going to be Hurdles

So mindset first off...now, here's the thing with this.

Not everybody is going to agree with what you're doing and especially if you're building your business online, because there are still traditional network marketers.

And then there are online marketers and sometimes those worlds collide and sometimes those worlds kind of meld together.

It just depends, but you know, a traditional network marketer, just because they build traditionally doesn't mean that it's the wrong way to build.

It just means that they built their business traditionally.

So when you bring those things online, some things transpose and some things don't right.

So overcome peer pressure. Really. It doesn't matter what other people think.

It's natural for people to fear what they don't know and so sometimes they're going to attack it.

And I've seen this happen when when people come to me that want to build their business online. Sometimes their upline is not very happy about it because you know, you're supposed to follow the system and I get it. I totally get it.

When somebody new comes into my team and they kind of want to do things differently.

I'm like, well, you can do things differently, but you know, we've kind of proven that this works over here, but building a business online is completely different than building it offline.

It requires different methods. It requires entirely different skillsets. But as some of it, you know, is the same too.

But if a leader hasn't done anything online and they're talking smack about it, they have no credibility, really, if they've never tried it or they don't know anything about it.

Respect them. I'm not saying get into, you know, confrontation but don't give into their doubt and fear because they don't know.

They don't know what they don't know. And the best way to, you know, deal with people that are negative about you building online is to just respect their opinion and say, "that's great. I appreciate your opinion, but I'm going to figure this out and learn how to do it online."

Okay. You don't need the approval of anyone else.

Alright. So master the unknown, learn how to overcome adversity.

Don't be a wuss and learn to overcome peer pressure. Okay?

Those three things will come up, but for now you can be prepared that it will come up.

The next thing is a practical blueprint.


Get a Blueprint!

You need an implementation blueprint, something you can reference along the way.

And there are primarily two different ways that you can build your network marketing business online.

There's the active social media recruiting, okay. Where you can actually implement right away.

It's basically you posting, you offering value, you engaging, you interacting with people, and there's a way to do it that's professional.

It's where you add value and you grow influence not the binding owls, not the join my teams, not the, you know, product posts.

This is where you're offering value and creating a influence with people. Okay.

And you know what? It can produce results really quickly.

The only problem is that there's no leverage in it. You're always busy.

People will move beyond simple social media recruiting because they want to create more leverage in their business and free up more of their time.

And this is part of what I teach, okay.

Is how to do that.

So passive social media recruiting is the other piece, which is about posting valuable content and about information that inspires people to reach out to you.

Now, the biggest piece of this is when you put these two together, okay.

If you can put some pieces together where you have a passive side and an active side, that's where things get really, really, really cool, because you have people coming to you as well as you are now interacting, growing, engaging, and promoting on a active level.

So it works a lot faster. All right.

So this is when people come to you.

So active is when you are creating those things. Okay.

Engaging asking questions, getting in messenger, finding the pain, asking, you know, if you can solve a problem and then the passive side where people are coming to you and that's where you're posting value, creating that presence of influence.

All right. Just so you know, the difference.

Now, the best part about the passive piece is that when people start to reach out to you, they can go to your website and find you, they can go to your social media platforms.

And even while you're sleeping, they are getting to know like, and trust you.

So they exchange this valuable information you've promised to give them by giving you their email addresses so that you can exchange that information and again, send them more great stuff.

So they get to know, I can trust you more.

The best thing about this, and I started out with the passive piece first, I didn't actively start building my business you know, until I was like three and a half years in.

I only wanted to do passive and it took a little bit longer.

So I say that putting active and passive together is probably the best way to produce the most results right now.


We All Need Somebody to Watch Over Us

The third thing is mentorship and it'd be very difficult for you to learn everything I just talked about without some personal one-on-one help.

So think about it. When you started in network marketing offline, somebody probably showed you the next steps.

Either the company you're applying, you know, somebody sideline, somebody I hope shared with you, how to build the business.

The same is true in building your business online is you need someone to show you the step by step blueprint.

So when you become you know, proficient at this stuff, then you don't need that.

But mentorship is one of those main things.
