Hey there. Welcome to today's episode.
My name is Brandy Shaver, coming to you from Utah. And what we're talking about today is time management hacks, how to get more done with less time and really optimize and get more effective in what you're doing and building your business.
So, number one, in this time management hack episode is time blocking. Everybody has the same 24 hours in a day. It's what we do with those 24 hours that's different. So time blocking is super important inside of your life. Now we all have things going on, right? Some of you might have a job. Some of us might be parents. Some of us might have church calling. Some of us might have more than one job. We're building our side hustle. We're doing all the things. And sometimes it can feel like we don't have enough time.
And really when you get clear on time blocking that's when you are going to go into your schedule and block out the times that are available for you to build your business. Here's the key to this- No one has spare time, right? It's not just like you get an extra six hours to build your business today. Nope! You've got to find the time inside of your day to make it work.
So the second time hack is once you've got that figured out is that you've got to have a DMO. So what is a DMO? A DMO is a daily mode of operation or a set of tasks that you do every day to get your business built. I like to call it Mastering the Mundane. You figure out those income-producing activities for your business and put those in first, those are the highest priority. And check off those tasks EVERY DAY!
HONOR THE SCHEDULE
The third thing I would add to this is honoring your schedule. When I first started to do this I would make my schedule and make it all pretty, color-coded all the things, and then I wouldn't honor the schedule. My schedule would be telling me to friend 10 people, or do a curiosity post about my products, or whatever the task may be and then I just wouldn't do it. So one of the main time management hacks I've had to use is actually following the schedule after I spent so much time building.
Think of it this way, when you're building the schedule for yourself you're the boss and then when you move to doing the things, you're the employee. So you're required to get those things done.
